Anna Jarvis

Anna Jarvis was the daughter of Ann Reeves Jarvis. Anna's mother's sacrifice and the idea of honoring motherhood inspired her very much. And thus, Mother's Day was introduced in the United States of America.
In 1908, Anna Jarvis had organized the first of the Mother's Day West Virginia Methodist Church, Johan Wanamaker (First Division Department Store Owner) helped Anna to organize this event.

After successfully organizing First Mother's Day, She made a goal of her life. She wanted the American government and the people to adopt a special day to honor motherhood. To promote it, She established Mother's Day International Association.

Due to Anna Jarvis's efforts, in 1914, American President Woodrow Wilson signed an official tender to establish Mother's Day as the second Sunday of May. Anna Jarvis told people the right way to celebrate Mother's Day, said, "On this day you should wear a white carnation, meet your mother, and take part in the service of the church.

But, from 1914 to 1920 merchants' associations commercialize this Mother's Day and made it a day of profit. Anna Jarvis did not like this, he believed that people would forget the importance of motherhood, and this would be limited to giving up all cards and gifts. While his thoughts were normal, spending time with Mothers and participating in the work of the church.

Anna Jarvis stopped the people from doing this and explained the logo to them and also case against those traders associations.  She opposed it, and even put its deposit capital into it.

She completely rejected this holiday in his last time. For this, Anna also urged the government to leave the holiday from the American calendar. By the end of her life, She was opposed to Mother's Day being the commercialize.
In the end, She died in 1948.
